CENTURY FOX TO RELEASE PERFECT STRANGERS IN NEW ZEALAND

Twentieth Century Fox has acquired New
Zealand distribution rights for PERFECT STRANGERS, it
was announced today by Royce Moodabe, Managing Director
for Twentieth Century Fox Film Distributors Pty Ltd, Franco
Zeccola, Chief Executive for Intesa Corporation Pty Ltd
and Kathleen Drumm, head of sales at the NZ Film Commission.
PERFECT STRANGERS tells the story of
a woman who finds herself the subject of a man’s
romantic obsession on a beautiful deserted island. Directed
by Gaylene Preston (War Stories, Bread and Roses), PERFECT
STRANGERS stars Sam Neill and Rachael Blake (Lantana)
supported by Joel Tobeck (Memory & Desire).
Gaylene Preston said "It will be
a pleasure to work with the experienced team at 20th Century
Fox in presenting the movie to New Zealand audiences”.
Fox’s Royce Moodabe commented “Gaylene
has created a film that can be held up proudly amongst
the best the world has to offer. Fox are delighted to
have the opportunity to distribute the film on its home
turf”.
Kathleen Drumm of the Film Commission
said “It’s great to be working with Fox in
New Zealand. They’re enthusiastic about the film’s
potential and have ambitious plans for the release”.
PERFECT STRANGERS was shot on location
on the West Coast of the South Island. Fox NZ plan to
release the film early in 2004.
PERFECT STRANGERS was produced by Robin
Laing and Gaylene Preston, for Gaylene Preston Productions
in association with Huntaway Productions, with Jay Cassells
as associate producer. The film was made with finance
from the NZ Film Production Fund, The NZ Film Commission,
